Jonah: A Prophet, A Fish and A God of Grace Week 4 - When God Sends a Wake-Up Call Point #1 — God May Use a Storm to Get Our Attention Truth: The disruption in your life may be God’s gracious invitation to stop, listen, and return to Him. Challenge: Instead of only asking, “God, will You take this storm away?” ask, “God, what are You trying to awaken or change within me?”   Point #2 — The Direction We Choose Affects the People Around Us Truth: Your walk with God is personal, but it is never private, your obedience or disobedience will affect others. Challenge: Ask yourself, “Are the choices I am making helping the people around me draw closer to God or making their journey more difficult?”   Point #3 — It Is Time for the Church to Wake Up Truth: God did not save us merely to keep us comfortable; He saved us to carry the hope of Jesus to those around us. Challenge: Wake up, Church! Open your eyes to the people around you, step out of your comfort zone, and allow God to use your life to point someone toward Jesus. Closing Thought God sent the storm to awaken the prophet, but He also used the storm to reveal Himself to the sailors. What Jonah saw as an interruption, God was using as an opportunity.

Jonah: A Prophet, A Fish and A God of GraceOn The Run - Thinking You Can Run and Hide from GOD Point #1 — You Can Get Up and Still Go the Wrong Way Truth: We can be busy, moving, and making progress while still running away from God. Challenge: Don’t simply ask, “Am I moving?” Ask, “Am I moving in the direction God told me to go?”   Point #2 — Running From God Will Always Take You Down Truth: Sin always promises freedom, but ultimately takes us farther down than we intended to go. Challenge: If your choices are pulling you away from God, turn around before you go any farther.   Point #3 — Disobedience Always Has a Price Truth: Grace is free, but running from God is costly. Challenge: Stop paying the price of disobedience. Surrender to the God whose grace continues to pursue you.   You can run from God’s assignment, but you cannot outrun God’s presence—and you will never run beyond the reach of His grace.

Jonah - A Prophet, A Fish and A God Of GRACE Get Up & Go Point #1 Get Up In God’s Strength Truth: When God calls us to get up, He gives us the strength to stand. Challenge: Stop using your weakness as a reason to remain where you are. God never calls us to accomplish His work in our own strength. Point #2 Go Even When The Assignment Is Difficult Truth: God’s call is not always comfortable, but it is always worthy of our obedience. Challenge: Do not allow a difficult destination or difficult people to keep you from going where God sends you. Point #3 Receive God’s Word Before You Deliver It Truth: Before we can faithfully carry God’s message, we must first allow His Word to shape our hearts. Challenge: Do not go with your own message. Get into God’s Word, take it to heart, and then share what He has said. Point #4 Go Faithfully and Leave The Response To God Truth: Our responsibility is obedience; the response and results belong to God. Challenge: Get up, go where God sends you, faithfully speak His truth, and trust God with what happens next.
